Mammootty starrer ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ gets a release date

Superstar Mammootty’s upcoming film ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ has finally got a release date. The cinephiles have been awaiting for the theatrical release of ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’, ever since its world premiere at the 27th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). On Friday (Jan 6) evening, Mammootty announced the release date, via his social media handle. The Lijo Jose Pellissery’s directorial will hit the big screens next week, on January 19. 
“#NanpakalNerathuMayakkam In Cinemas on January 19 , 2023,” Mammootty tweeted.

The makers had previously launched the trailer, which was well-received in the theatres. ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ also marks acclaimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery’s first association with superstar Mammootty. The summary of the film on the IFFK’s website reads, “A group of Malayali travellers were returning to Kerala by bus after their visit to Velankanni. They all doze off in a lazy nap after lunch. Like a traveler who forgot his destination, James stops the bus in a village in Tamil Nadu. He starts to speak in Tamil like a native of the place, Sundaram, and behaves like him, confusing all who came with him and the villagers alike. He walks amidst faith, delusion, dream and trance, followed by others.”

‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ had received a thunderous response from the movie buffs while its world premiere and the expectations are high for the upcoming film.

Meanwhile, on the technical front, Theni Eswar has captured the visuals for the film, and Deepu Joseph is the editor. Gokul Das is the art director, and the sound designer is done by Renganath Ravee. Ronex Xavier is makeup artist for the film.
